Chewie is not your typical campervan! Purpose built from a 2018 VW Crafter 4Motion, Chewie was designed for living off grid in the harshest of climates. No expense has been spared to create the ultimate winterised adventure vehicle with 4WD and top spec equipment inside and out.



Winter upgrades: Chewie is fully equipped inside and outside for winter adventures. Starting with the top of the range 4WD model, we added uprated Seikel suspension, BF Goodrich all terrain tyres (with 3PMSF certification), snorkel and premium snow chains. Internally, Chewie has a top of the range 2200W Eberspacher D2L diesel heater that takes fuel from the main tank and can run 24 hours a day if needed, keeping the living space at a comfortable temperature even in extreme climates – tested at altitudes up to 3000m and at temperatures down to minus 20 Celsius (minus 4 Fahrenheit). Walls, ceiling and floor are insulated and thermal blinds provide additional insulation for windows and skylight. 300Ah of lithium batteries, a 300W solar panel and internal water tanks complete the winter upgrades to allow for off grid living for up to a week at a time.



Description of Beds: Chewie can sleep up to 4 adults in the main living area with flexible options for different group sizes. The main bed measuring 190cm x 150cm consists of two zip and link mattresses which can be separated into two single beds if required. At night, the living area can also be adapted to create two additional single beds measuring 185cm x 60cm, or a small double bed measuring 175cm x 100cm. There is additional storage space underneath the seats to store the additional bedding.



Description of Seating: Chewie can carry 4 people while travelling, with three seat belted seats in the front cab and an additional belted seat in the rear. Any baby seats or booster seats must be fitted in the front. The living area will comfortably seat 4 people, with a large table between the two bench seats. Handy 12V and 240V power sockets mean you can use the seating area for working, as well as eating and lounging around.



Cooking Equipment: Chewie has a 2-burner diesel hob built that draws fuel from the main vehicle fuel tank meaning there is no gas in the vehicle at all. We provide various pots, pans and cooking utensils, and enough plates, bowls and cutlery for 4 people. There is also an espresso machine, an additional milk frother for creamy lattes, and a 1 litre kettle.



Water Facilities: Chewie has a winter proofed 80-litre fresh water tank in the garage, plus an additional 12 litre tank connected to the filtered drinking water system. The 50-litre grey water tank is underneath the van. There is a hot-water shower that is hidden away when not in use. The shower tray is built into the floor, and the curtain and shower head are tucked inside the top cupboard. It takes less than a minute to set up and the tankless water heater provides constant hot water. A portable toilet is fitted on a sliding drawer underneath the bench seat, simply pull it out when you need it. All chemicals will be included.



Storage: Chewie has a heated, waterproof garage space underneath the main bed, with room for 6 sets of skis or snowboards in winter and 4 full size mountain bikes in summer. Storage boxes, hooks and elastic nets allow you to store all your other adventure gear. In the living area there are several drawers, cupboards and racks for all the food and drink you’ll need, plus 4 additional top cupboards and 4 bedside cupboards for clothes. We include tea and coffee plus all the cutlery, appliances and cooking equipment you’ll need, as well as bedding, duvets and pillows.



Other: Rental price includes insurance, breakdown cover and a generous free mileage allowance of 200km per day (20c per km after this). We can arrange airport transfers from Geneva airport, prepared meals, ski rental, guided tours and lots of other extras.
