Hey everyone, we are Ian and Lisa,
We bought our Peugoet Boxer L4 H2 (Lucy) just before first lockdown on 25th January 2020 for £7,200. This was our third camper, the first being a brand new ready built VW T4 that we bought back in 2003, the second a Vauxhall Vivaro, our first build, in 2015.
Having had many years of using drive away awnings and pop tops, the design brief for Lucy was “to rock up to our chosen destination, put the hand break on and that was it!”
Ian began the build as soon as the van arrived, but without a garage or lockup, every part of the build was weather dependent and Lockdown made life difficult with various materials proving difficult to source.
12 months on and we have finally finished our dream home on wheels and are about to start our adventures and make some awesome new memories.
Future plans for travel include Europe and North Africa, but as keen paddle boarders, we will never be far from water.
Our message to future van builders…. There will be blood, sweat and tears and many, many days of one step forward and two steps back, but stick with it, maybe adapt/change your plans along the way (I know we did!), and you too will create your own special space.
